Imagine...

Living in your own right-sized, energy efficient home where you have as much privacy as you want and community at your doorstep.

Living in a neighborhood where you have a sense of purpose and a meaningful role in the life of the community, where you can be independent and in control of your life.

Living in a neighborhood with people who share your values, cherish their privacy, and also like to connect, be active, and enjoy life together --
and who have the time for it.

Living in a neighborhood with shared green space, pedestrian paths, and a community house where you and your neighbors share meals, hold celebrations, play games, and
just relax.

So What's the Big Idea?

Vision: We envision a world where seniors (55+) can live in a close-knit community of neighbors who know and care about each other; where they can share resources, be independent, and participate in the life of the community.

Mission: To thrive as the first 55+ cohousing community in New England; to enjoy and promote the benefits of living in community.

Aims:

Completing the building of 26 residential units and renovation of Common House and Barn by working with our developer and balancing the requirements of the Littleton Town Planning Board; offering environmentally friendly options whenever possible; monitoring the project budget closely; and marketing/managing all the sales of the units.

Promoting landscaping practices that will help preserve our community’s natural environment, the health of our community and of the planet.

Using Sociocracy for governance and organizational structure where personal preferences do not obstruct community needs as long as consented agreements are good enough for now and safe enough to try.  Note, in Sociocracy we entrust

work circles to gather feedback and make term-limited agreements within their domains, on behalf of the community.

Embodying the values of intentional community living by cultivating friendships, trust, and safety; working together collaboratively and sharing skills; enjoying many planned and impromptu community gatherings, including shared meals and events.

Engaging in activities that further our relationship with the town of Littleton, MA and the cohousing community at large.
